OUR JOURNEY

"This journey was never built by one person. It was built by family, friendships, students, teachers, and every soul who believed in the healing power of sound."

Nepal Singing Bowls & Healing Centre

Every singing bowl carries a story.
So does ours.

Some journeys are carefully planned. Ours was not. It was shaped by family, friendship, unexpected loss, unwavering support, and a deep belief that the healing power of sound should be shared with everyone.

Looking back, we realise that Nepal Singing Bowl & Healing Center has never been just about singing bowls — it has always been about the people who walked beside us, believed in us, and helped carry this journey forward.

We invite you to walk through our story.

WHERE IT BEGAN · POKHARA

The Dream Begins

In 2015, my late brother Guru Yug Ajay, together with his close friend Kwan, began offering donation-based sound meditation sessions in Pokhara through Nirvana Singing Bowls.

At that time, Himalayan singing bowls were still unfamiliar to many people. Their intention was never to create a business, but to create a space where anyone—regardless of their background or financial situation—could experience the peaceful vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls.

What started as a simple offering soon became a place where people from around the world gathered to meditate, connect, and experience the transformative power of sound.
Neither of them imagined that this small beginning would inspire a journey that continues today.

2015 - 2016

A MOTHER'S QUIET SUPPORT

The Quiet Strength Behind the Dream

Every dream is supported by people whose names are often never seen.

From the very beginning, our mother quietly stood behind this journey. She travelled to Pokhara to support my brother and Kwan, helping in every way she could—preparing meals, cleaning the space, welcoming guests, and offering encouragement when it was needed most.

She never sought recognition.

She simply believed in her children and the dream they were creating.

Her love, strength, and quiet dedication remain one of the foundations upon which Nepal Singing Bowl & Healing Center stands today.

NEPAL SINGING BOWLS BEGINS · KATHMANDU

A peaceful space opens its doors

In 2017, the journey continued in Kathmandu with the opening of Nepal Singing Bowl & Healing Center.

Our vision remained the same—to create a peaceful space where anyone could experience Himalayan singing bowls, meditation, and sound healing, regardless of where they came from.

The studio was small, simple, and full of heart.

People from all over the world began finding their way to our space. Some came after trekking in the Himalayas, some were curious about singing bowls, and others were simply looking for a quiet place to pause.

Over time, strangers became friends, students became family, and our small studio became a home for countless beautiful connections.

2016–2021

Learning Through People

Greatest teachers

As the years passed, our greatest teachers became the people who walked through our doors.

Every day, we welcomed visitors from different cultures, beliefs, and walks of life. Each person arrived carrying their own story, and many left sharing experiences that deepened our understanding of sound healing.

Through thousands of donation-based sessions, courses, and conversations over a cup of tea, we realized that healing looks different for everyone.
No book could have taught us what these shared human experiences have taught us.
Even today, those moments continue to shape the way we teach, practice, and hold space for others.

heartbreaking loss of my brother

Carrying the Legacy Forward

In 2021, our family experienced the heartbreaking loss of my brother, Guru Yug Ajay.

He was more than the founder of this journey. He was a teacher, a guide, and someone whose kindness touched countless lives.
His passing left a space that could never truly be filled.
There were moments when we wondered how we could continue without him.
But we slowly came to understand that a legacy does not end with one person.
It continues through the people whose lives have been touched by their kindness, wisdom, and love.
That understanding gave us the strength to keep walking.

2021–2022

the people who choose to stand beside us.

Friends Who Became Family

During one of the most challenging times in our lives, we were reminded that family is not only the people we are born with.

It is also the people who choose to stand beside us.

Kwan encouraged us to continue the journey my brother had begun. Under his guidance, both Teku and I spent time in Pokhara learning, growing, and finding the confidence to carry the work forward.

We are also deeply grateful to Clayret, my brother’s very first student, whose love and respect for him continue to inspire us.
Claire, whom my brother lovingly called his “sister given by the universe,” generously shared her knowledge, notes, and encouragement, helping us continue learning when we needed guidance the most.
And to Rainbow Gaga, whose friendship became a source of strength during one of the most uncertain chapters of our lives, we offer our heartfelt gratitude. Her kindness and trust helped us continue moving forward when hope felt fragile.
These friendships remind us that the sound of a singing bowl has the power not only to heal—but also to bring people together across cultures, countries, and lifetimes.

2025

little studio , It was home.

A New Home, The Same Heart

For many years, our little studio in Kathmandu was more than a workplace.

It was home.

Within those walls, thousands of people meditated, learned, laughed, cried, and experienced the healing power of Himalayan singing bowls.

We poured our hearts into every corner of that space.

Although the building was old and natural light was limited, we created a showroom with love and care, making the most of what we had.

When the building changed and the peaceful atmosphere was no longer the same, we knew it was time to begin another chapter.
Leaving was one of the hardest decisions we have ever made.
Packing every singing bowl felt like packing years of memories.
As I stood in the empty room, I quietly realized something that brought me peace: My brother was never only in that place.
His presence lives wherever his love, teachings, and kindness continue to touch others.
With that feeling in our hearts, we stepped into our new home.

Today

continuing this journey

A New Beginning

Continues its journey from a new home in the heart of Thamel.

Filled with natural light, fresh air, and peaceful energy, this space has been thoughtfully created for meditation, learning, healing, and connection.

Working with visitors from around the world has taught us that a healing space is not only about beautiful surroundings—it is about making people feel safe, welcomed, and at peace from the moment they arrive.

While our surroundings have changed, our purpose has remained the same.

Every donation-based session…

Every course…
Every singing bowl…
Every retreat…
Every conversation…
is offered with the same intention that inspired this journey from the very beginning

Project Sound for Peace

One Dream. Many Hearts. One World.

Project Sound for Peace is the dream of our beloved founder, Yug Ajay.

He believed that the sound of a Himalayan Singing Bowl could do more than create beautiful tones. It could bring people together, encourage stillness, and remind us of the peace that already exists within us.

Although Yug Ajay is no longer physically with us, his vision continues to inspire everything we do.

Today, every course we teach, every singing bowl we carefully select, every sound meditation we offer, and every student we welcome is a continuation of that dream.
We believe that peace begins with one person.
When one person finds inner peace, they share it with their family.
Families influence communities.
Communities influence the world.
Our students come from many different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, but they leave connected by one simple intention—to bring more peace, compassion, and awareness into their own lives and into the lives of others.
This is the heart of Project Sound for Peace.
It is not a destination.
It is a journey that continues with every person who becomes part of our family.

Our Vision

To create a global community of practitioners who use sound with integrity, compassion, and respect—sharing the timeless wisdom of the Himalayan Singing Bowls while inspiring peace, one person at a time.

"If our work helps one person slow down, breathe deeply, and rediscover a sense of peace, then Project Sound for Peace is already making a difference."

"In loving memory of Yug Ajay, whose dream continues to inspire every sound we share."

Meet Our Team

Every person who becomes part of Nepal Singing Bowls carries a unique story

Every person who becomes part of Nepal Singing Bowls carries a unique story, yet we are united by one purpose—to preserve the authentic Himalayan Singing Bowl tradition with sincerity, compassion, and respect.

Guru Yug Ajay

Founder & Visionary

"Sound has the power to connect us beyond words."

Guru Yug Ajay was the founder and the heart behind Nepal Singing Bowls.

In 2015, together with his dear friend Kwan in Pokhara, he began sharing the authentic Himalayan Singing Bowl tradition through donation-based sound meditation sessions. At a time when sound healing was still unfamiliar to many, he believed that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the peace and transformation that sound can offer, regardless of their background or financial situation.

His vision was never simply to teach techniques or sell singing bowls. His dream was to create spaces where people could reconnect with themselves through sound and to share this knowledge with the world.

Although his physical journey ended in 2021, his spirit continues to guide everything we do. Every student we teach, every sound bath we offer, and every singing bowl we share is a continuation of the dream he began.

Tekoo

Sound Healing Practitioner, Nature Guide & Teacher

"Nature and sound both remind us to slow down and simply listen."

Tekoo is a Sound Healing Practitioner, Nature Guide, and teacher with years of hands-on experience in the authentic Himalayan Singing Bowl tradition.

He has a deep understanding of singing bowls—their sound, vibration, tonal qualities, and how each bowl complements another. With a trained ear and years of experience, he personally selects the bowls for our showroom, ensuring that each one carries its own unique character and harmony.

Alongside singing bowls, Tekoo is especially known for his powerful yet gentle Gong playing. His Gong sessions create a deeply immersive experience, helping participants relax, release, and reconnect with themselves.

Whether leading a training course, guiding a private therapy session, or sharing nature with others, Tekoo’s calm presence and patient teaching style help students feel comfortable, supported, and inspired throughout their learning journey.

Anisha

Sound Healing Practitioner & Teacher

"A teacher can only show the path. Each person must discover their own way of healing."

Anisha’s journey with Himalayan Singing Bowls began while continuing the legacy of her late brother, Guru Yug Ajay. What first began as a responsibility gradually became a path of healing, self-discovery, and purpose.

She is passionate about teaching and believes that learning should feel simple, approachable, and enjoyable. Her warm and easy-going nature helps students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their experiences, and learning at their own pace

Many people naturally open up to Anisha, sharing their personal stories and life experiences. She believes that every individual carries a unique journey, and that healing begins when we feel heard, accepted, and understood.

Through sound, compassion, and genuine connection, she hopes every student and participant leaves not only with new knowledge, but with a deeper connection to themselves.
